Katy Stuehm
Katy was born and grew up in Northern California. She inherited her love of animals from both her family and early childhood friend and mentor, JoDe Collins. Her grandmother, Hildreth Hunter had jumpers and ranch horses from early childhood and was surrounded by dogs throughout her life. Hildreth's uncle, Joe Urmston raised both Kerry Blue and Wirehaired Fox Terriers. Hildreth, also a terrier lover, had Yorkshires and Jack Russells as well as non-terrier breeds such as Whippets and Lhasa Apsos before finding Irish Terriers. Upon introduction to this fiery breed she declared that she would have no other and founded Falcarragh Irish Terriers.
Katy worked for horse trainer JoDe Collins for twelve years before attending UC Davis for a degree in Spanish Philology. Today Katy not only continues to breed dogs but also works independently starting young horses and gundogs while raising two new babies.
